www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2009/jul/04/lyndall-phelps-milton-keynes-galleryExhibition preview: Lyndall Phelps, Milton Keynes Partly funded by the Royal Pigeon Racing Association, Lyndall Phelps's series of photographs and videos pays tribute to the unsung part played by the common or garden pigeon as a feathered secret agent in the allied efforts of both world wars. Phelps restages many of the pigeon's heroic manoeuvres: being strapped with elastic to miniature parachutes, being fitted with tiny cameras to snap military sites behind enemy lines, carrying cardboard tubes on their backs to bring home co-ordinates of shot-down pilots. An artist's talk on 18 July is to be preceded by a pigeon race in Campbell Park. • Milton Keynes Gallery, Sat to 30 Aug
